Is there a family that hasn’t been devastated by cancer? I don’t believe so. I was 22 years old when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer; she passed away 10 years later. In 2007, my husband, Jim, died only 6 months after being diagnosed with kidney cancer. He was 56 years old. And in 2013 … my father, of colon cancer. I am paddling in honor of my late husband Jim Malehorn, my mother, Ruth Esser, my father, Frank Esser, and all those affected by cancer.  Your donation to the Pacific Cancer Foundation will support the programs and services provided for free to cancer patients and their families across Maui, Lana`I and Moloka`i.
